Working with PERC

The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) mission in agriculture is to strive to benefit the U.S. agriculture and propane industries by developing and improving propane-fueled technologies and programs that increase farm productivity, reduce environmental impacts, and enhance safety. To fulfill that mission, PERC works with manufacturers, researchers, and government partners to strengthen technical knowledge, leverage funding, and maximize investments in developing new propane products for the agriculture industry. This collaboration ensures that innovative applications of propane are realized in the most effective way possible.

The Council manages its research and development projects using a customized process, called Propel, which follows the principles of the Stage-Gate process. Theprocess begins with an idea submission form and then Propel divides the process into a series of activities (stages) and decision points (gates). We encourage you to download the Propel Overview document to learn more about the criteria and methods used to assess the value and progress of proposed projects.
